Hai Xin Bing — World of Cultivation

Hai Xin Bing rules the Northern Plains Ice Mansion as one of the Nether Realm's four lords. She is a feared administrator, a long-range planner who invests in forging, and ultimately a claimant to the Nether throne. Her bid collapses when the new King's legitimacy and god-level power strip away political support, after which she chooses a fatal direct attack.

Biography

Northern Plains power and bid for the throne

Hai Xin Bing is introduced through an ultimatum ordering Wu Ge City to deliver thirty thousand catties of black nether ore within three months or face the execution of the entire Wu clan. Her reputation for carrying out threats makes the order credible. The ore dispute is part of her rivalry with the Yin Tomb Guards, while her separate forging department and effort to recruit a grandmaster show planning beyond immediate extraction: she is building both material supply and technical capacity. Zuo Mo consequently judges her farsighted and potentially dangerous before meeting her directly. (Chapters 856–860 and 869)

The old King's disappearance creates a legitimacy contest among the Nether Lords. Shi states that Hai Xin Bing and Jia Man will rebel, and after Jia Man's position collapses, much of his remaining strength—including his strongest commander—moves toward Hai Xin Bing. That consolidation gives her a large field army, eventually described as more than three hundred thousand strong, but it does not give her the old King's recognized authority. Defeat and final attack

Hai Xin Bing enters the confrontation expecting a public military victory to create legitimacy, but Zuo Mo's god-level presence and the King's Domain instead destroy her army's confidence. Her political strategy therefore fails before her personal attack begins: soldiers and observers see the very authority she hoped to deny, while her own face turns ashen when she recognizes the difference in power. With retreat offering neither throne nor security, she burns her remaining shen power and attacks in person, choosing a suicidal contest after her massed command has already ceased to be a viable path to rule. She uses the Ice Plains Shen Breath to spread blue snow and ice across a thousand li, temporarily sealing the battlefield and dimming the opponent's glyphs.
