Hai Jin Yun rose from an unknown mo general after learning shen power and became one of the Mo Marshal Alliance's foremost young commanders. Sent with Shang Yu Sheng to reinforce Quan Pei against Bie Han, he grew increasingly uneasy when scheduled insect messages stopped, inferred that Quan Pei had probably been destroyed, and halted to establish a base until Shang could join him. (Chapters 759–763)

After meeting Shang Yu Sheng, Hai Jin Yun helped devise a cautious test against Ma Fan Battalion and accepted that guessing Bie Han's intentions would leave them reactive. The test ended with two mo marshals dead; Hai initially raged at what looked like cowardice or incompetence, then listened to the survivor's account and recognized that an unexpectedly powerful force had defeated them. (Chapters 769–774)

Once Hai Jin Yun and Shang Yu Sheng realized that Bie Han intended to fight them together, Hai accepted the battle while watching for hidden schemes. In the open clash, he led from the front, gathered his battalion's power into enormous golden blade attacks, broke the summoned skanda with Golden Split Chop, and continued an attritional charge even after Bie Han's Death Whirlpool killed many soldiers. Bie Han deliberately exhausted Hai Jin Yun and destroyed most of his battalion while using the hard fight to draw Shang Yu Sheng fully into battle. With his troops nearly gone and his own energy spent, Hai made a last direct charge at Bie Han; Bie Han's counter shattered the light around him, and Hai fell from the sky without life. Appearance and personality

Hai Jin Yun is tall and thin, with a faintly golden complexion, sunken cheeks, long narrow eyes, and a sharp gaze. His high, metallic voice matches a quick and violent temper. He can force down his anger and reconsider evidence, but direct combat excites him, and confidence in strength repeatedly encourages aggressive choices.

Abilities and cultivation

Hai Jin Yun follows the traditional mo method of concentrating a battalion's power into its commander. His shen-refined body tolerates that influx, and his own shen power controls it through a large black blade. Golden Split Chop releases a sky-splitting blade light, while its Angry Wave variation sends out a broad golden surge that can burst into many bolts. These attacks weaken sharply as his soldiers and their energy are lost; after his battalion is nearly destroyed, he cannot gather enough power to survive Bie Han's counterattack.
