Gu Wu Shuang appears among the Yin Tomb Guards' most famous experts when Zuo Mo reaches the Nether Realm. He takes an immediate interest in Zuo Mo's chariot and asks whether it is for sale, then returns alone to Billion Bone Peak, a dangerous site where he harvests bones. (Chapters 861–863)

After Zuo Mo demonstrates his forging ability, Gu Wu Shuang joins Bu Ru Mian, Hei Wu, and Mo Ru in agreeing to fight the Eastern Nether Mansion despite the danger to the Yin Tomb Guards. He watches Zuo Mo transform shrieking bones into shen equipment and later praises the result with the others. (Chapters 866–872)

He is a completely snow-white skeleton with balls of flame burning in his eye sockets.
