Ghost Lord, commonly called the Yin Tomb Ghost Lord, leads the Yin Tomb Guards from the Ten Thousand Tombs of the Underworld. His combination of immense power, patience, and loyalty turns an attempted recruitment contest over Zuo Mo into an alliance and eventually commits his entire force to the new Nether King.

Biography

Nether Succession and the Final War

Ghost Lord approaches Zuo Mo with the Yin Tomb Five Ghosts, apologizes for Tuoba Yu's group, offers five pieces of Nether Ghost Yin Heavy Wood, and requests shen devices in return for the Guards' materials and death-energy pools. The successful negotiation brings Zuo Mo's party to the Ten Thousand Tombs, where Ghost Lord protects their recovery and supplies materials, including a dark-gold femur that he gives away without demanding trade. Resource shortages prevent the true shen device he wanted, but Zuo Mo gives him a pseudo-shen device in thanks. Ghost Lord openly supports the appointed successor while fighting Eastern Nether Mansion, promises to protect Qing Xiao and the Wu Clan, and finally rejects neutrality. Because he was born at the Ten Thousand Tombs and regards them as the old King's homeland, he moves every Yin Tomb Guard to aid the new king against Hai Xin Bing. Appearance and personality

Ghost Lord appears as a black-robed figure with a stiff, zombie-like face. His voice is dry and dissonant, likened to pieces of wood rubbing together, and he normally speaks with little visible expression. His residence is an unguarded, undecorated ordinary building despite his rank. (Chapters 861 and 863)

He is terse but patient, broad-minded, generous with valuable materials, and reliable once an agreement is made. Zuo Mo specifically notes the care shown to his party. Ghost Lord's final mobilization also reveals loyalty beneath his impassive manner: he accepts a dangerous war because of the old King's trust and his own bond to their shared homeland. Abilities and cultivation

Ghost Lord is stronger than the Yin Tomb Five Ghosts and is sensed as not far from god-level, with each member of the six-person group at least comparable to Qing Xiao. Like the Yin Tomb Guards generally, he cultivates a system rich in nether shen power and suited to the death energy of the Ten Thousand Tombs. He can also raise bone chairs, tables, and cups directly from the ground. (Chapters 861–863)
