Feng Yue

Biography

Documented arc

Feng Yue served as Jiang Zhe's shijie and second-in-command, helping him manage the practical affairs of the battalion he built. She resented Xuan Kong Temple's indifference to Ding Zhen's death because he had once mentored her, and she openly declared that she would go to Cloud Sea Jie for revenge even if Jiang Zhe refused. (Chapter 544)

Feng Yue eventually disobeyed military orders and departed with a force of elite outer-sect combat xiu. Knowing a mo counterattack was approaching, she drove the battalion without rest so she could strike Cloud Sea Jie and return quickly; Jiang Zhe responded by sending Gao Xuan and Jiangzi Battalion reinforcements because Feng was skilled but impatient and prone to risk. (Chapters 572–575)

At Cloud Sea Jie's border, Feng Yue initially dismissed the responding Black Turtle Camp as an inferior local force. Their readiness and micro-tactics turned the fight into the attritional contest her exhausted troops could least afford, so she reorganized for a decisive Bodhisattva's Raging Lotus charge rather than remain trapped in a prolonged engagement. (Chapters 577–579)

Black Turtle Camp's Arcing Rainbow defense stopped the charge and reflected a severe backlash that wounded much of Feng Yue's force. Gao Xuan arrived, but the larger Vermillion Bird Camp then entered the battle; Xuan Kong Temple's dhyana tower soon showed both Feng Yue's and Gao Xuan's life lamps extinguished, confirming their deaths and leaving Jiang Zhe grieving his long-time companion. (Chapters 580–583)

Appearance and personality

Feng Yue is a beautiful, voluptuous, mature woman with bright red lips and a mole at one corner of her mouth. She teases Jiang Zhe freely and speaks bluntly about the temple's elders. Loyal and capable, she is also quick-tempered, risk-seeking, and sufficiently driven by gratitude to violate orders for revenge.

Abilities and cultivation

Feng Yue is an experienced battle general able to assess formations, reorganize troops under pressure, and command Xuan Kong Temple's Bodhisattva's Raging Lotus Battle Formation. The formation excels at a powerful fire-lotus charge, but its very ferocity creates severe backlash if stopped. Her rushed march leaves her troops tired, and her confidence in sect quality delays recognition that a supposedly weaker local battalion can force attrition and withstand the decisive attack.
