Elder Xu

Biography

Documented arc

The earliest Elder Xu is Xu Zheng Wei, a local jindan cultivator in Xu Ling City. The title appears around his negotiations with Zuo Mo's group, his cautious neutrality during the Ren family's attack, and his later decision to join Turtle Island; his individual history is treated separately under his full name rather than combined with later elders. (Chapters 441–442, 474, 481)

A different Elder Xu belongs to Xuan Kong Temple. When the sect pursues Xiao Mo Ge, he is one of the three elders able to travel fastest and is assigned with Elder Wu and Elder Hao to trail the target using a flying talisman. The episode supplies no personal name or evidence connecting him to Xu Zheng Wei. (Chapter 683)

Another Elder Xu serves the Yao Council under Ming Yue Ye. Marked by a pure-blue crystal on his forehead, he confronts Kuai An with an ocean-like shen technique that first twists and tears through violent waves and then stills the entire field under crushing pressure, but his shen power is explicitly weak and he underestimates the Blue Horsefly earth mo weapon. (Chapters 726–727)

The Blue Horsefly pierces that Yao Council elder's forehead, bypassing the seemingly fixed ocean and causing his body to melt, so he is dead by the following chapter. This death prevents the title's later uses from being treated as his continuation, even where another Elder Xu is also associated with the Yao Council. (Chapters 727–728)

The Heart Leaf Dhyana Sect has its own Elder Xu, described as the sect's other expert beside its leader. He recruits Fairy Lin Ying, Long Guang, and Ruan You Xian—friends of several decades—for an expedition to ancient ruins, with no source-local sign that he is the dead yao elder or the earlier Xu Ling City cultivator. (Chapter 771)

Yet another living Yao Council power-holder is called Elder Xu much later. Proud of a united clan and exceptional battalions, he is influential though less renowned than Bing Lan and Mu Xi; Youqin Lie shocks him by exposing his involvement in a decades-old scheme against the Ten Thousand Mile Gang. His survival confirms a separate identity from the elder killed in Chapter 728. (Chapter 912)

Appearance and personality

The title does not identify a single appearance or personality. Xu Zheng Wei is an old, prudent man. The ocean-technique Yao Council elder has a pure-blue forehead crystal, a deep voice, and fatal overconfidence. The later Yao Council bearer is proud of his clan's organization, while the Xuan Kong Temple and Heart Leaf Dhyana Sect bearers receive little physical description.

Abilities and cultivation

Abilities must be separated by bearer. Xu Zheng Wei is a cautious local jindan without a named technique. The Xuan Kong Temple elder is notable for travel speed. The slain Yao Council elder creates a violent ocean of shen power, commands it to become still and crystalline, and imposes immense pressure, but his weak shen power and failure to recognize Blue Horsefly's nature leave him vulnerable. The Heart Leaf elder is called a sect expert without a demonstrated technique, and the later Yao Council elder's power is political, clan-based, and military rather than individually shown.
