Viuda

Viuda is a gravity mage who teaches beginner magic in Lanthanor's outer city and helps introduce Daneel Anivron to formal magical training. Her talent makes her a valuable instructor and transport mage, while her temper makes even routine lessons dangerous.

Biography

Instructor in the outer city

Viuda teaches the beginner mage class at a public training hall, where Daneel first encounters her as both an encouraging teacher and an uncompromising disciplinarian. She recognizes signs of magical potential, carries students to important training and academy events with gravity magic, and remains warmly disposed toward young talent. Her affection does not soften her enforcement methods: she hurls a disobedient trainee toward the stands with enough force to create real danger and later punches Elanev, with whom she has a longstanding romantic connection. Across Daneel's rise from poor trainee to king, Viuda remains part of the network of teachers and acquaintances who knew him before political power transformed Lanthanor. Appearance and personality

Viuda is a beautiful, lithe woman who wears a white dress and has prominent features, large eyes, a straight nose, and petulant lips. She is friendly toward children and capable of genuine encouragement, yet also impatient and physically expressive when angered. Viuda is described as the best gravity mage in Lanthanor's outer city. She can reduce or redirect weight, glide or fly, and carry passengers through the air, applications that make gravity magic useful for instruction and transport as well as combat.
