Dalia

Dalia is Helena's daughter, a child of rural poverty who grows into a business leader and later a representative within Angaria's Hivemind defense.

Biography

From Burbery to the Hivemind

Dalia accompanies Helena from Burbery village to Lanthanor's Citizen Justice Center after a noble's guards kill her father. Government redress, a Bank loan, and Network advertising allow Helena's embroidery work to become a continent-wide enterprise, and Dalia grows from an eager schoolchild into its hardworking heir. Her loyalty to Daneel is grounded in that material change, but he also challenges her assumptions: during an assignment in Eastcliff, he makes her confront why frightened civilians might resist a war she sees as necessary. (Chapters 97, 217–246, 414, and 919)

At sixteen, Dalia wants to contribute directly despite Helena's fear of losing her. Her natural ability to steady and organize others leads the Hivemind to select her as a representative; she calms her group and prepares it to act during the final defense rather than functioning as a passive beneficiary of Daneel's rule. She survives and shares a final farewell with Helena before Angaria enters suspended sleep. (Chapters 1,015–1,016, 1,136–1,138, and 1,163)

Appearance and personality

As a child Dalia has freckles, bright red cheeks, and an expressive face; she later appears in a maroon dress and grows into a confident young woman. She is affectionate, ambitious, hardworking, and sometimes impatient with people whose fear she has not yet understood. Her later leadership shows that the empathy Daneel asks of her becomes practical rather than merely idealistic. (Chapters 217–227, 414, and 919)

Abilities and power

Dalia has no confirmed combat realm, formal Path, or personal spell. Her demonstrated strengths are commercial judgment and group leadership. As a Hivemind representative, she helps a linked group maintain order and coordinate its response; she does not generate the Hivemind or control it alone. The role depends on the shared formation and the group's participation, and her latest state is a living civilian leader in suspended sleep rather than an established Fighter or Mage. (Chapters 1,136–1,138 and 1,163)
