Ace

Ace is one of three closely raised Fortress seeds and a faction leader during the Legacy Battle. Pride in his family and earlier victory over Daneel Anivron makes him slow to accept manipulation, though his battlefield judgment helps keep some of his followers alive once the contest turns lethal.

Biography

Command during the Legacy Battle

Ace enters the Legacy Battle with the reputation and resources of a top Fortress seed, supported by the triplets Jasper and Xandar and confident because he believes he has already driven Daneel away once. He commands followers against Champion-level monstrosities and helps distract them through speed and coordinated attacks, but the factions are gradually maneuvered into sacrificing people for another plan. Ace eventually recognizes the manipulation and repeatedly chooses the practical retreat that preserves survivors, even while remaining willing to use weaker followers as shields. When Daneel reveals himself, shame over his father's disgrace and wounded pride override that caution. Ace attacks with silver-coated hand blades, is kicked through three trees, and lies unconscious at his last appearance. (Chapters 633–642)

Appearance and personality

Ace resembles the two young men raised with him closely enough for their shared background and mannerisms to be remarked upon, though the corpus does not give him a full independent portrait. He is proud, privileged, and competitive, with a strong attachment to family reputation. Under pressure he can make correct tactical judgments, but humiliation turns that same loyalty into recklessness when he attacks an opponent he knows is stronger. (Chapters 633–642)

Abilities and power

Ace is a Warrior-level Fighter seed noted for speed and high potential. He can pressure large opponents as part of a team and coats his arms in silver material that forms paired sword-like edges over his hands for a direct charge. His effectiveness against Champion monstrosities depends on distraction, numbers, and coordination rather than equal cultivation, and Daneel's final counter demonstrates the gap between Ace's seed-level confidence and a superior combatant using stronger inheritances. His exact Warrior sublevel is not stated. (Chapters 633–642)

Relationships

  • Xandar and Jasper: Ace is raised alongside the two Fortress seeds as though the three were triplets, and they share private codes and a strong collective identity. Their support reinforces both his command position and his confidence in the Battle. (Chapters 633–642)
  • Daneel Anivron: Ace treats an earlier apparent victory over Daneel as proof of superiority. Daneel's disguise and manipulation overturn that belief, and Ace's final attack becomes an emotional response to disgrace rather than a sound tactical choice. (Chapters 633–642)

Items

No individually named item is firmly assigned to Ace. His silver arm coating functions as combat equipment or technique, but the supplied scenes do not give it a proper name or establish it as a separately catalogued artefact. (Chapters 633–642)
