Universal Core
History
While crossing the Abyss, Damien infers that a surviving fragmented dimension still possesses its Universal Core. He forces the hidden consciousness to respond by binding worlds and changing the surrounding balance, then negotiates with and binds it using a process analogous to World Core binding. Incorporating it into the Sanctuary prevents it from remaining an independently carried object and changes the stability of the abandoned fragment. (Chapters 1207–1210)
Properties and use
A Universal Core anchors and stabilizes a universe and possesses enough consciousness to communicate emotion and resist discovery. Its integration raises Damien’s state of existence, supplies Universal Law, and makes the Sanctuary’s laws more complete. Removing such a core can collapse what remains behind, so acquisition carries structural consequences beyond a personal power increase. (Chapters 1207–1210)
