Biography

Death, Dollification, and incomplete restoration

Five hundred years before Jaehwan's climb, Rachel serves as Andersen's Vicegerent and companion. Memories show a short-haired blond woman laughing with her god and bickering with Ethan Cart's Vicegerent. Rachel and Andersen's Followers die during the Metaverse disaster, after which Ethan preserves Rachel's body as a Doll. When Andersen returns, Ethan initially inhabits that body to confront her and Jaehwan. The body's memories later spill out during battle, and Ethan releases control, allowing a faintly responsive Rachel to surface, but neither that moment nor possession proves her original soul has fully returned. (Chapters 113, 118–121, 131, 134)

At the Metaverse's final floor, Runald spends his wish on Rachel's revival. The Driver restores information and emotions remembered by the tower to her Doll, bringing warmth back to the body while warning that severe damage prevents her from being exactly as she was. The narration openly questions whether reconstructed memory can make this being the original Rachel. Her condition improves inside Jaehwan's Unique World, yet Andersen later says Rachel's soul still has not returned completely. At Hachenold, Andersen emerges in Rachel's body, Descends through her, and shields Jaehwan from Deus Ex Machina. After the catastrophe, neither Andersen's remains nor Rachel's are found, leaving Rachel's latest state missing rather than confirmed alive or dead. (Chapters 159, 170–171, 176, 192, 211)

Appearance and personality

Rachel is a young woman with short golden or blond hair and jewel-like eyes. Ethan dresses her Doll in a Gothic dress and carries a crow on its shoulder; later, Andersen's descent wraps the body in brilliant golden World Power. The Gothic presentation belongs to the occupied Doll and need not reflect Rachel's clothing in life. (Chapters 113, 118, 192)

The supplied corpus preserves Rachel's personality mostly through memory: she is cheerful with Andersen, capable of playful bickering, loyal to her god, and concerned enough that Andersen expects Rachel would scold her for selfishness.
