Marianne

Marianne is Andersen's fourth Apostle and one of the Followers killed during the failed Metaverse revolution. Ethan Cart later recreates Marianne as a Doll who guides the Sixth Floor village, and the fall of the Metaverse ultimately restores the Apostle to life.

Biography

The Metaverse and its gods

Marianne dies with Andersen's other Followers while defending their god five hundred years before the main narrative. Ethan later reconstructs those dead Followers from the Sixth Floor's buried history, preserving a red-haired, eyepatched version of Marianne who recognizes Andersen upon her return. The reunion conceals the Doll's nature: a historical memory shows Marianne thanking Andersen at the end, while Jaehwan's examination of the villagers reveals empty souls and an endlessly repeated prayer to be saved. Within the recreated village, Marianne acts as a calm guide and organizer. She invites Jaehwan to the temple festival, accepts without resentment that he carries Andersen rather than serving as her Vicegerent, and explains that the village's former Followers can no longer return to their original god. When Jaehwan destroys the Metaverse, pillars of light restore souls who died within the Tower. Andersen recognizes Marianne among those returning, and officials confirm that the dead are coming back to life, making this a restoration of the Apostle rather than another Doll manifestation. Appearance and personality

The recreated Marianne is a red-haired woman with an eyepatch, often shown with both hands calmly folded.
