Christian — The World After the Fall

Christian is Andersen's seventh Apostle, one of the Followers killed while protecting the Sixth Floor village five hundred years before the main narrative. Recreated as a Doll, Christian becomes a Follower of Ethan Cart and is eventually restored to life when the Metaverse falls.

Biography

The Metaverse and its gods

Christian dies with Andersen's other Apostles during the old revolution, but Ethan later uses the buried history of the Sixth Floor to recreate them as Dolls. When Andersen returns to the village, the plump Christian steps forward with Hans and Marianne and recognizes the former god. The reunion initially appears joyful, yet Andersen remembers Christian's terrified plea not to die, and Jaehwan's 「Doubt」 reveals that the villagers' souls are empty shells repeating an unending prayer to be saved. Christian nevertheless participates in village life, imitates Runald's Stab practice with the others, and retains recognizable habits and memories within the reconstruction. (Chapters 116–118)

Ethan later summons Christian and the other dead Followers as crow-masked Dolls during the fight against the Metaverse Six Gods. After the battle, the surviving Dolls gather around the dying Ethan and identify themselves no longer as Andersen's Followers but as Ethan's, joining hands to pray for the god who preserved their histories. Their presence frames Ethan's Doll-making as both a binding power and the means through which people erased by the Metaverse continue to act. (Chapters 130 and 134)

When Jaehwan destroys the Tower, pillars of light restore souls that died inside it. Christian and Marianne appear among the familiar Followers Andersen recognizes, while officials confirm that the Metaverse's dead are returning to life in a miracle compared with the Fruit of Resurrection. The text does not follow Christian individually after that moment, but the system-wide explanation establishes that the Apostle is alive again rather than merely operating through a Doll. Appearance and personality

Christian's recreated body is a plump man with permed hair, a slightly protruding belly, and cheeks that bulge as though he is chewing. The villagers call Christian gluttonous, and Christian timidly steps forward when asking to join Runald's training. The corpus does not separately describe the appearance of the restored living body, so it is unclear whether every feature of Ethan's reconstruction carries over. (Chapters 116–117)

Christian's sparse direct dialogue shows fear, curiosity, and attachment. The historical memory preserves a desperate wish to survive, while the Doll eagerly joins a new communal activity and continues praying even after no longer belonging to Andersen. Christian's later choice of Ethan as a god expresses gratitude or loyalty to the one who retained the Followers' histories, but the chapters do not give a private explanation of that decision. Powers and limitations

Former Follower and Doll

Christian was once Andersen's Apostle and says that a sword was used in the past, but no named personal Skill, Setting, or combat feat is attributed to Christian. As one of Ethan's Dolls, Christian can manifest from the Sixth Floor's recorded history, act alongside the other recreated Followers, and direct Prayer toward a god. The reconstruction's central limitation is the absent original soul: 「Doubt」 finds an empty shell, and the Doll continues to voice the plea embedded in the death from which it was made. Restoration

The fall of the Metaverse restores Christian as part of a broad return of souls that died within the Tower. The event is not a technique Christian controls and its precise cause is unknown even to observers, though it coincides with Jaehwan briefly opening the end of the world and is compared to the Fruit of Resurrection. No later chapter establishes Christian's post-restoration abilities. (Chapter 175)
