Shirley
Shirley is an ambiguous entry covering a Heidler student in Chapter 838 and a much earlier noblewoman in Vicente's history, related through late flashback chapters. Nothing establishes that they are one person. (Chapters 838–839 and 896–910)
Biography
The Heidler student
The student Shirley introduces herself to Donnie as a guest from Orvarit and later thanks him after a laboratory disaster, appearing alive and relieved. The brief scenes do not establish her major, powers, or later career. (Chapters 838–839)
Vicente's lost beloved
The earlier Shirley defies family pressure to remain with Vicente and warns him when night watchers discover bodies in his basement. Her attempt to save him exposes her to the same persecution, and she is killed after Andrew reports the situation. Decades later, Vicente returns for revenge, retrieves her remains, and begins killings intended as offerings for her revival. The corpus ends before establishing whether revival succeeds. (Chapters 896–910)
Personality and status
The student is friendly and humorous. Vicente's Shirley is loyal enough to overcome fear and warn a suspected sorcerer, at fatal cost. Their traits and outcomes must remain separate. (Chapters 838–839 and 898–905)
