Sharon

Sharon is the second violinist in the traveling band that comes from Sturk to attend the Aalto Music Festival. She is an experienced performer and perceptive listener whose shared musical dream is strained when Grace's rise to fame changes the band's relationships. A grand knight also named Sharon appears in Chapter 771, but the corpus provides no evidence connecting that unrelated adventurer to the Sturk musician. (Chapters 106–168 and 771)

Biography

A shared musical dream under the pressure of fame

Sharon reaches Aalto after seven months of travel with Piola, Green, Leslie, and Grace. The band performs competently enough for Lucien Evans to judge them qualified even by Aalto standards, then spends the festival securing places in crowded squares and listening closely to the masters they came to study. Sharon recognizes familiar works immediately and comments on balance, expressiveness, and form rather than reacting only to celebrity. Those experiences validate the group's original motive: young musicians traveling together because they want to learn and perform. (Chapters 106–115)

Success in Sturk later divides that collective purpose. Grace's fame and wealth rest heavily on being the band's pianist and on music connected to Lucien, while the other members become increasingly marginalized. Sharon confronts Grace with the possibility of telling the newspapers what she is doing, but Grace answers that no one will believe them. The exchange leaves Sharon without the institutional power to correct the imbalance and marks the dissolution of trust within the group. The corpus does not establish her life after that confrontation. (Chapters 162–168)

Appearance and personality

The musician Sharon's physical appearance is not described in detail. She is earnest, musically attentive, and willing to challenge Grace once the band's shared dream becomes exploitative. Her criticism is direct but constrained by the reality that fame has made Grace's public account more credible than those of her former equals. (Chapters 110–115 and 168)
