Rock

Rock is a cheerful elemental sorcerer who befriends Lucien at Douglas Magic School and later helps build the Atom Institution. The apparent Chapter 3 “appearance” is only the common noun rock; the named character first appears in Chapter 196, an important census homonym preserved here. (Chapters 3, 196–237, 343–696)

Friendship and institutional research

Rock introduces himself as a second-circle sorcerer skilled in elements and mathematics, filling Lucien in on Congress debates with jokes and restless enthusiasm. When Lucien forms the Atom Institution, Rock accepts immediately because its resources and collaboration can help him reach middle rank. He reads new work with excitement, assists Jerome in recruitment, and continues laboratory discussion through relativity and electron diffraction. Appearance and abilities

Rock is a black-haired, messy-haired young man in a white shirt and black vest. He is sociable, excitable, and inventive enough to turn a rejected project into a card game.
