Kritonia

Kritonia, called the Heart of Time, is one of Holm's two legendary knights and a protector whose loyalty to the Church places him against Natasha's alliance with the Congress of Magic. His choices connect royal succession, family survival, and the wider religious war, making his formidable protection an instrument of political conspiracy as well as national defense. Biography

From royal guardian to fugitive church ally

Kritonia begins as a level-three legendary guardian whose presence is considered sufficient to make an ordinary assassination of Prince Patrick impossible. That reputation becomes evidence against him when Patrick dies without an obvious wound: the later investigation establishes that Kritonia acted under the late king's command while Rex concealed what happened. When Natasha shifts Holm toward the Congress, Kritonia sides with the Church and uses his position and time power against her coalition. Sard's manipulation, however, leaves him claiming that he was deceived; he asks Benedict III to protect the core of his family and agrees to assist the Church's Original Fire in secret as penance. Natasha later confronts and badly wounds him, and his concealment cannot erase the consequences of his choice. He nevertheless survives and reappears as a dangerous watcher whose presence constrains operations against the Church. By Chapter 893, hostile legendary experts have him surrounded alongside Hoffenberg, and his former confidence is gone. The corpus therefore leaves him alive but under pressure, not restored to his old position in Holm. (Chapters 605–611, 866–877, and 893)

Appearance and personality

Kritonia is described as a tall, gray-haired old man, though he can use a convincing younger, mustached disguise. He is cautious about survival and family, yet his deference to religious authority leads him into acts he later frames as manipulation or sin. Even after losing his place in Holm, he remains controlled enough to operate covertly rather than surrender. (Chapters 569, 575, and 605)

Blood power and abilities

Heart of Time is a level-three legendary knight bloodline. Kritonia can control or corrupt through time strongly enough that investigators consider it capable of making a death from grief appear flawless; he can also sense the emotional state of distant populations through a small shifting figure held in his hand. Natasha's wound after fighting him retains time corruption and requires extended treatment. The excerpts demonstrate these effects but do not fully explain their activation limits or exact range.
