Biography

A guard confronted with hidden necromancy

Joanna presents her family party professionally, explaining their ranks, reputation, and higher price before accepting Lucien's journey. Habearo's castle overwhelms their ordinary experience, but once Lucien exposes the undead threat she and the others clear remaining husks while believing him a Saint Knight. Admiration then motivates Joanna to endure the boring, painful foundations of formal knight training instead of relying only on mercenary experience. Later music recalls home and the fear of that journey, showing that survival changes her aspirations without erasing its cost. (Chapters 137–151 and 294–307)
