Green

Green is an ambiguous census entry. Most early matches are the color word, while named passages establish a Sturk violist in Piola's band and, centuries earlier in late-story flashbacks, an Old Green who keeps a sorcerer liaison hotel. The corpus does not state that they are one person, so this article preserves both identities without merging their biographies. (Chapters 1, 106–168, and 862–872)

Biography

The traveling violist

The musician Green comes to Aalto as Piola's violist, shares the band's Psalm Hall ambition, and urges Grace to return to Sturk rather than pursue unaffordable study alone. When Grace's piano fame eclipses the others, he resents her plan to leave and fears that the band's collective sacrifice will be discarded. His pressure helps reveal the conflict between friendship and dependence inside an ensemble whose success has become concentrated in one member. (Chapters 106–168)

Old Green's hidden hotel

Old Green runs a hotel that attracts knights while secretly serving as a Union of Sorcerers station. He screens hostile guests, posts warnings, and later maintains contact with Sharp after leaving normal relay duties. That cover lets enemies of the Church exchange information beneath an apparently ordinary tavern. (Chapters 862–872)

Skills

The early Green is a qualified violist. Old Green has a magically active dead-green eye and expertise in counter-surveillance and clandestine communications. Treating those abilities as belonging to the musician would be unsupported. (Chapters 106, 111, 162, and 862–872)
