Elena
Elena is an Aalto Musicians' Association receptionist who helps Lucien enter its working community and later builds a musical career of her own. Her progress from desk work to paid performance makes her an admired example for other ordinary association employees. (Chapters 10–100, 282–295, and 718)
Biography
From reception desk to orchestra
Elena handles Lucien's early introductions, worries when he is late for library work, and helps him navigate jobs and housing around the association. Friendship places her near Victor's students without granting the noble resources many of them possess. She studies music while resisting an arranged marriage, and after three years earns a place in a large band with enough income to support an independent career. Younger receptionists consequently admire Elena more than a noble prodigy: her action proves that disciplined study can change the life available to someone who begins where they do. (Chapters 10–100 and 282–295)
Appearance and skills
Elena appears in a long light-yellow dress and is described as lovely. She is warm, responsible, and emotionally responsive to music. The corpus confirms that she becomes a professional instrumentalist but does not specify her final instrument, repertory, or any supernatural power. (Chapters 36, 64, 100, 284–295)
