Antec

Antec is a friend of Fernando and student of the King of Nightmare who helps maintain Dream Aalto, a shared defensive dream over the real city. (Chapters 881–892)

Biography

Maintaining refuge through dreams

Antec welcomes Fernando into Dream Aalto and explains that the construction both covers the city against sudden Church attacks and gives rival supernatural groups a harmless arena for conflict, since dream deaths can be reversed. He is only newly sixth-circle and socially awkward, yet his specialization lets him detect Fernando's entrance and contribute directly to a defense powered mainly by Dracula. During later operations he carries credentials, follows intelligence, and helps evaluate apparent defections, remaining part of the network trying to survive Church pressure. (Chapters 881–892)

Personality and abilities

Antec is cowardly, poor at social interaction, and fond of hiding in dark corners to manipulate dreams. His sixth-circle dream magic contributes to Dream Aalto and detects entrants, but the construction's greatest power belongs to Dracula rather than Antec. (Chapters 882–891)
