Su-Heon is a Human officer from one of Automation’s four major families who serves as Vasen Lak Orazen’s adjutant. In a Lizardman-dominated army, Su-Heon earns position through analysis, logistics, and a willingness to question the commander.

Biography

Learning beside Vasen

At Dilpa Gorge, Su-Heon warns that bravery cannot cancel arrows, narrow terrain, or the difficulty of encircling an enemy before entering the pass. The initial advice is cautious, and Su-Heon later recommends preserving uninjured troops rather than reinforcing a costly front. Vasen rebukes that judgment because the apparently spent soldiers still have a role in his deception, but he continues asking the adjutant questions. Su-Heon responds by studying each failure instead of withdrawing opinions, bringing maps, calculating marches, checking Deimerit’s captured weapons, and reporting Asbestos’s defenses. The partnership turns wrong answers into training and gives Vasen a competent Human staff officer during campaigns that depend as much on information as Lizardman strength. (Chapters 119–141)
