Ravwin Quez

Ravwin Quez is a scholar who tutors Black Scale’s princes and later becomes Administration Minister under Kyle Lak Orazen. His classroom method encourages questions about theology and ethics, while his ministerial work turns the same habit of structured inquiry toward state problems.

Biography

Tutor called into government

Ravwin teaches Kyle after the prince has exhausted the first library, asking what he wants to study rather than simply assigning another inherited course. Though respected and deeply associated with the third library, Ravwin lacks high status and finds Kyle’s unusual combination of brilliance and apparent blankness difficult to evaluate. He also teaches the brothers through questions after reading Sairan’s theology, creating room for Kyle to ask whether Night Sky is actually good-natured. After Salusin’s exile, Kyle appoints his former teacher Administration Minister. Ravwin feels unqualified but obeys the urgent order, and later proves his value by separating Asbestos’s accusations into factual verification, command responsibility, and national interest, giving a tense council a clear framework for decision. (Chapters 77–112)
