Oldor Mayen is a Troll general of Asbestos who commands part of the allied naval expedition against Yaboon’s Pirates. He treats the Wizard Mazdari as both a hidden weapon and a dangerous subordinate, a calculation that ends in his death.

Biography

The general and the Wizard

Oldor meets Vasen as Asbestos’s general while sharing nominal command with Mazdari, whose power makes him more uneasy than the battle around them. He withholds important operational details from the Wizard, including the danger to friendly Mangul sailors, then leverages Mazdari’s indiscriminate demonstration to increase Asbestos’s authority within the alliance. After the pirate fight, Oldor accepts the bound Wizard back from Vasen and believes he has recovered a newly valuable asset at low cost. The relationship has already broken beyond repair. Mazdari fulfills the prophecy of betrayal, burns Oldor from within, and steps away from his last attack, turning the general’s attempt to own magical power into the immediate cause of his death.
