Mando Hwae-Sa

Mando Hwae-Sa is an Ogre agent of the Imperial Intelligence Agency. Their enormous, highly trained body makes covert work impractical, so the Agency uses Mando as an intimidating interrogator, visible escort, trainer, and public face.

The Agency’s unmistakable face

Mando first accompanies Ion Iolkaf after having participated in his interrogation, using months of travel to teach the researcher standard Intelligence Agency evacuation procedures. Mando’s size prevents blending into crowds but makes institutional protection unmistakable, so they appear in promotional material and openly meet people whom secret agents cannot approach as safely. During the evil gods’ attack on Orazen, Mando fights a house-sized Hermit Crab Abomination and returns with torn armor and a bleeding chest while remaining steady. Later, Mando plays Go with Vasen during preparations for the Fall and respects the boundary of their own clearance, saluting and waiting outside the Battle System command center rather than treating personal connections as access. Appearance and personality

Mando is an Ogre about 2.8 meters tall with a triangular, weight-trained physique. Their shoulders are hyperbolically described as broad enough to cover four Trolls, and even standing in a hallway can block movement. (Chapters 267–271)
