Battleship Slicing Blade

The Battleship Slicing Blade is Herlous's signature mechanical weapon, combining the reach and cutting power of an enormous blade with a compact, adjustable form.

History

Herlous's signature weapon

Herlous first displays the weapon while fighting in his armor, expanding a rectangular block section by section into a blade roughly ten meters long. Its scale matches his direct Pugilist fighting style: he can rush a target with it, carve through ordinary barriers and beasts, and pressure even heavily armored opponents. The weapon remains a recurring part of his field equipment as the Black Star Mercenary Group takes on larger conflicts. (Chapters 349–433)

Integration with Shattered Light

When Herlous equips Shattered Light, the armor reinforces his Pugilist Energy around the blade and turns the weapon into the focus of his close-range offense. Its variable structure also lets him retract the ten-meter form to roughly one meter when space or distance makes the full blade impractical. He continues wielding it during later mercenary and planetary battles. (Chapters 472–625)

Abilities and properties

• Expands from a compact rectangular block into a mechanical blade approximately ten meters long. (Chapter 349)
• Can cut through alloy doors, ordinary creatures, and conventional materials, though sufficiently durable energized armor can withstand or deflect its strikes. (Chapters 362, 433, 511)
• Retracts to about one meter for close-quarters fighting. (Chapter 472)
• Channels and benefits from Herlous's Pugilist Energy when paired with Shattered Light armor. (Chapter 472)
