Suzuki

Suzuki is an ambitious former ruler who exploits Souta's Samurai system, using its enforced fealty to turn the unwilling warrior into his agent. (Chapters 311, 407, 478)

Biography

Coercion, bounty, and the Murder Grounds

After Fernanda retakes Earth and ends his period of rule, Suzuki vents his lost power through Souta, whose Samurai system compels unquestioning loyalty to a declared feudal lord. Suzuki trains him in falsehoods and uses that obedience for immoral work while concealing his own objectives behind cultivated manners. His decision to accept a bounty on Larry Dershaw traps both men in a prolonged stalemate: Larry remains within the Inn or Marlo's protection, while Souta secretly helps expose his master. Larry finally challenges Suzuki to a private Murder Grounds duel, denying him access to Souta; the battle lasts six days and ends with Suzuki's death, freeing the person he had treated as an instrument. Appearance and personality

Suzuki is a well-dressed Asian man who presents himself with controlled politeness and a business card. Beneath that surface he is cunning, ambitious, and willing to direct violence through another person's compelled loyalty. Irritation replaces his smile when Larry forces him to fight without his usual subordinate. (Chapters 311–332, 455)

Abilities and cultivation

Suzuki is a deeply founded high-level cultivator whose combat strength cannot be explained by rushed advancement alone. His prosthetic hand transforms into a spirit-energy machine gun that fires green energy projectiles, while blue-lit eyes, great leaps, and other bodily enhancements suggest additional technology or techniques. He excels at mobile ranged combat and wounds Larry despite the latter's exceptional durability. The precise realm, construction of his augmentations, ammunition limits, and other hidden modifications are not established; his greatest practical limitation is dependence on distance and on Souta when circumstances allow.
