Count Pinophyta Salvatia is a treant emissary sent by the Tree of Heaven to evaluate the Midnight Inn and seek a future ambassadorship. The Tree of Heaven's embassy

Pinophyta approaches Luthor formally, hoping to meet the Innkeeper and establish diplomatic standing. He is disappointed that the Innkeeper is unavailable and initially believes his background under Nascent-level beings should make a Golden Core worker manageable. Learning that the powerful people he observed are merely vacationing employees replaces that confidence with disbelief and encourages a more cautious assessment of the Inn. (Chapters 1076–1078)

He remains long enough to observe tavern life and listen to discussions about local legends and treasures, gathering context rather than forcing access to senior leadership. The visit does not secure a confirmed ambassadorship, but it succeeds as reconnaissance: Pinophyta leaves with direct evidence that the Tree of Heaven must treat the Inn as an institution whose ordinary personnel can match elite forces. Appearance and personality

Pinophyta is a treant without an identifiable face or mouth. A patch of differently colored leaves among his upper branches resembles one eye, and his whole wooden body vibrates to create speech. He is formal, status-conscious, and diplomatically restrained; surprise and disgruntlement show through, but he avoids open insult when the Inn fails to match his expectations. (Chapters 1076–1085)
