Brandon

Brandon Morrison is Alexander Morrison's grandfather, Audrey's husband, and the patriarch who built the modern strength of the Morrison family on Mars. His unserious love of anime, flirting, and spectacle coexists with lethal cultivation and a consistent willingness to protect his descendants without embracing control of Earth.

Biography

The Inn and a family breakthrough

Brandon learns of the Midnight Inn through Alexander and, taking its implications seriously, brings the Morrison elders to investigate. The Inn's stable energy loosens both his body- and spiritual-cultivation bottlenecks, and participation in the Midnight Games helps him reach the Nascent realm. He uses the opportunity to train and criticize his family's combat performance, while his rivalry with Marlo Bravi becomes a public duel that tests their new paths without turning either man's pride into lasting enmity. (Chapters 76–83 and 146–220)

Protecting the Morrisons without ruling

The political crisis on Earth offers Brandon a chance to become a conventional ruler, but he prefers leaving administration to his descendants and enjoying life with Audrey. He warns revolutionaries not to harm his family and rejects coalitions involving Devils or Deities that attract other former rulers. Later he finances Audrey's Lady Cosmos project, treats games and races as opportunities for chaos, and builds an unlikely friendship with Wu Kong. By the latest chapters he remains concerned with restoring his family's broader standing while still using the Inn as refuge from responsibility—and occasionally from his pregnant wife. (Chapters 158–159, 196–197, 288–602, 1339–1760, and 2149–2230)

Appearance and personality

Brandon appears physically young despite being Alexander's grandfather and openly displays numerous tattoos. He often wears casual clothes, flirts shamelessly, and modifies serious family techniques to resemble anime attacks, making his mental state difficult for ordinary observers to judge. The performance is not incompetence: he becomes focused when his family faces danger, gives precise combat criticism, and can move from jokes to lethal action without hesitation. His devotion to Audrey remains the most stable counterweight to his playboy manner. (Chapters 76, 113, 158–159, 179, 196, and 1339–1340)

Abilities and cultivation

Conventional dual cultivation

Brandon cultivates both body and spiritual paths and reaches Nascent after the Inn's environment loosens his bottleneck. He uses numerous spiritual techniques rapidly and contrasts with Marlo's later bloodline-centered approach. His body cultivation provides the close-combat foundation needed to survive those exchanges, while Nascent power makes him one of the strongest Earth cultivators of his period. The narrative does not give exact sublevels or a later immortal breakthrough. (Chapters 82–83, 179, and 196–197)

Modified family techniques

Brandon alters Morrison spirit techniques for style as well as function. A displayed technique creates a fiery chain surrounded by a conspicuous golden aura; he intentionally prevents practitioners from seeing the aura so embarrassment will not stop them from completing the training. In combat he combines frequent techniques with improvised physical weapons and a steady, lethal pace. Individual costs, ranges, and activation sequences are not supplied, so the techniques are not assumed to reproduce the fictional powers that inspired their presentation. (Chapters 76, 158, 179, and 197)
