Sasha's Shield

Sasha’s Shield is the signature equipment through which Sasha anchors projected barriers and performs large-scale shield attacks. The first physical shield is destroyed by Carlos, but Sasha later receives higher-grade equipment from Kai’s artifact cache. The article therefore follows the continuing shield role while distinguishing the lost original from its later successor. (Chapters 82–83, 140–141)

History

Original shield and destruction

Sasha plants her large shield during the clash with Carlos’s forces and projects an enormous yellow copy that blocks volleys of arrows, spears, and spells. Carlos first shatters a projected defense and knocks her into a wall, then throws his glaive through the physical shield and Sasha’s chest. Her survival does not preserve the object: the narration explicitly says the shield shatters, ending the original item’s service. (Chapters 82–83)

Replacement and party defense

By the manticore hunt Sasha again carries a shield, and her expanded light blocks a lethal strike while protecting Kyana and Nadya from volleys of spikes. Kai soon takes every weapon and armor piece from an ancient tomb whose artifacts are second only to divine arms. The source does not isolate the moment Sasha chooses one, but her later shield is consistently stronger and remains part of the equipment set she dons for battle, supporting its treatment as the upgraded successor rather than the magically repaired original. Shield as weapon and divine-scale armor

Sasha’s defense grows from a wall into a mobile battlefield construct. She angles a projected shield above the entire party, layers it with Nadya’s barriers, and later throws a huge construct upward before slamming it down like a flyswatter on hundreds of soldiers and demons. In giant and god-level combat, the shield scales with her body and remains effective as a bashing weapon, although the story does not state that the artifact itself has become divine. (Chapters 137, 307, 398, 530–531)

Abilities and properties

The shield projects much larger yellow or construct-like copies of itself. Sasha can plant or angle these barriers to cover groups, enlarge them to intercept heavy strikes, layer them with allied wards, or move and slam them offensively. The projection’s resilience depends on Sasha’s output and outside support: Carlos shatters an early version, an S-rank manticore pushes her backward, and stronger defenses sometimes require Nadya or other allies. Its later capacity to scale with Sasha does not establish unlimited durability. (Chapters 82–83, 115, 137, 307, 398)
