Amaya's Sword

Amaya’s Sword is the beastkin warrior’s signature blade and the principal focus for her wind-infused swordsmanship. Amaya carries it from her first appearance onward, usually at her hip in a horizontal sheath. The corpus never gives the weapon a personal name, maker, or separate owner, so the descriptive title identifies it by its consistent wielder. (Chapter 63)

History

Early adventures

Amaya first draws the sword while traveling with Kai and Gwen into the mountains, where she confronts frost monkeys and establishes herself as the group’s close-range combatant. She continues using the same role as the party expands: Sasha anchors the front, Gwen casts from range, and Amaya enters enemy formations with her blade. Her repeated readiness to draw it before a fight makes the sword part of her habitual equipment rather than a quest object acquired on-page. (Chapters 63, 68, 82, 115)

Artifact cache and later campaigns

Kai’s party empties an ancient tomb’s treasury of bows, swords, armor, and other artifacts described as second only to divine weapons. The corpus does not explicitly identify one displayed sword as a replacement for Amaya’s existing blade, so the cache should not be treated as a confirmed acquisition event for this specific item. Later scenes still describe “her sword” when she projects cuts, protects the group, or attacks from a ship, preserving continuity without establishing a new named weapon. Continued use at higher power

Amaya’s combat scale grows far beyond her introduction, but the sword remains a channel for her techniques rather than receiving a documented independent upgrade. She uses it with mana, vibration, wind, and tornado-like attacks through later continental wars. Its continued effectiveness reflects her own increasing strength and transformations; no scene shows the blade changing owners, breaking, being consumed, or developing a separate consciousness. Abilities and properties

The sword supports conventional cutting and carries Amaya’s mana and wind through projected slashes, vibrating edges, tornadoes, and broad crowd-clearing attacks. These effects are consistently framed as Amaya’s skills rather than autonomous enchantments. The blade therefore requires her physical technique and magical output, can be avoided or resisted by stronger opponents, and has no stated automatic defense, range, durability grade, or permission lock. Its origin and material are also unconfirmed. (Chapters 68, 115, 137, 218–247)
