Josh
Josh is a C-rank adventurer who leads a four-person party with his fiancée Sophia, Lucy, and Richard. He hires Kai LuForia as a porter shortly before the mission exposes a rising demonic threat.
Biography
Command during the monster-camp mission
Unable to find a porter for a dangerous quest, Josh offers Kai escalating pay for storage, cooking, and combat skills while promising that his party will protect him. At the abandoned camp, he takes Sophia on reconnaissance, weighs Kai's competing explanations, and organizes watches rather than rushing ahead. When the party finds prisoners, Josh prioritizes their release and questions survivors for other holding areas. During the ambush outside, he directs the defense and later helps return civilians and monster evidence to Hearthwood. (Chapters 15–20)
Josh intends to pause adventuring, marry Sophia, and buy a home, but accepts Kai's offer of housing when Sophia expresses an altered desire to live there. Unknown to him, Kai has already hypnotized Sophia and made sexual access to her seem normal. Josh and Richard subsequently take hunter work to support the household, and Josh later arms himself when its residents are threatened. Appearance and personality
Josh is an adult human man with black hair who wears metallic armor. His height, eye color, complexion, and exact age are not stated. In battle he uses a bladed weapon suited to fast cuts. (Chapters 15–18)
He is responsible, tactical, fair-minded, and protective. Josh pays Kai properly, listens when a junior companion has useful insight, controls the party's pace, and focuses on endangered civilians. He can be overly trusting once Kai earns the team's confidence. (Chapters 15–22)
Powers and abilities
Josh is a C-rank close-combat adventurer with mana-enhanced speed and precision. Against an ogre, he darts around the target and cuts its leg tendons after Richard blocks the attack and Lucy blinds it, leaving Sophia a stationary target.
