History

Xiao XingChen's sword

Xiao XingChen wielded Shuanghua during his work as a roaming cultivator. The sword became widely recognizable through illustrated sword catalogues, and wounds made by it later connected the Chang clan killings to the Yi City mystery. (Chapters 30 and 36)

Deception in Yi City

After Xiao XingChen gave away his eyes, Shuanghua could direct him toward corpse energy. Xue Yang exploited this by poisoning living people and cutting out their tongues, preventing the sword from distinguishing them from walking corpses. Xiao XingChen unknowingly killed those victims and fatally stabbed Song Lan. Once Xue Yang exposed the deception, Xiao XingChen used Shuanghua to end his own life. (Chapters 39–41)

Xue Yang later wielded Shuanghua alongside Jiangzai. After Xue Yang's defeat, Song Lan left Yi City carrying Shuanghua together with his own sword, Fuxue. (Chapters 38 and 42)

Abilities and properties

• It emits a clear silver sword glare and carries strong spiritual power. (Chapters 36 and 38)
• It can point a blind wielder toward corpse energy. (Chapter 40)
• It cannot distinguish a living, corpse-poisoned person from a corpse when speech and other cues have been removed. (Chapter 40)
