Jiangzai

Jiangzai is Xue Yang's spiritual sword, a weapon repeatedly associated with his violence in Yi City.

History

Deception in Yi City

Xue Yang conceals Jiangzai in his sleeve while living beside Xiao XingChen and A-Qing. He silently extends it into A-Qing's path to test whether she is truly blind, forcing her to continue walking toward the point to preserve her disguise. He later draws Jiangzai against Song Lan and drives its tip into Song Lan's mouth after corpse-poisoning powder leaves him vulnerable. (Chapters 39–40)

Duel in the fog

When Lan WangJi confronts Xue Yang, Jiangzai clashes with Bichen through Yi City's fog. Xue Yang's familiarity with the streets helps him keep pace despite Bichen's calmer advantage. The sword remains identified as Xue Yang's own even while he also carries and uses Xiao XingChen's Shuanghua. (Chapters 38, 41–42)

Abilities and properties

  • Xue Yang can draw Jiangzai from concealment in his sleeve and use it for sudden close attacks. (Chapters 39–40)
  • He wields Jiangzai and Shuanghua at the same time with coordinated hands. (Chapter 38)
  • The blade can contend with Bichen for a time when the fog and terrain favor Xue Yang. (Chapter 41)
