Hensheng

Hensheng is Jin GuangYao's flexible sword, designed to be concealed at the waist or wound around the arm before an unexpected attack.

History

Concealed blade

Jin GuangYao uses Hensheng while working undercover beside Wen RuoHan, hiding the soft blade at his waist or around his arm for critical moments. Years later, he draws it in his secret chamber when Wei WuXian's paper incarnation discovers Nie MingJue's sealed head. Hensheng pursues the paper figure until Suibian answers Wei WuXian and opposes it. (Chapter 50)

Carried in Lanling

An earlier scene of Jin GuangYao traveling with Xue Yang shows Hensheng at his waist: when a street vendor screams, his hand moves immediately to its handle before he sees that no supernatural threat is present. The source does not establish the sword's final custodian after Jin GuangYao's death. (Chapter 118)

Abilities and properties

  • Hensheng has an extremely flexible blade that can be hidden around its wielder's body. (Chapter 50)
  • Despite its softness, the blade is sharp and can wrap around an opponent before spiritual power is applied. (Chapter 50)
