System Stones

The System Stones are ancient divine installations that activate, expand, or change compatible System classes and whose damaged remains enabled the Golden Dragon Nation to develop Divine Serum.

History

A broken divine device becomes the model for Divine Serum

The earliest account describes a broken set excavated beneath an ancient World Dragon Cathedral. Although the device itself no longer functions, researchers study its remaining power and internal principles for decades, using that work to create Divine Serum and artificially attune modern humans to the System. The Stones are therefore the technological and religious source behind the nation's Elite program even before a functional set appears in the narrative. (Chapter 2)

A functional set unlocks classes and dangerous choices

Karl's unit finds an intact set in the ruins of a city where prior scouts had not recorded it. The formation activates in response to compatible users without a ritual. Karl rejects its offer to randomize and instead receives further Beast Master skills, while other users gain class skills or broader changes. One soldier who accepts randomization becomes a female Worgen Rogue, and another becomes an Elven Warrior child by Elven age standards, establishing that “random” can alter species, gender, class, and related traits rather than merely choose among ordinary skills. (Chapters 207–208 and 215)

The discovery immediately becomes a Church and state security matter. The World Dragon Archbishop arrives to secure the site, and officials consider whether compatible candidates might use the Stones without the risks of serum while admitting that the requirement for prior System access is uncertain. The set's origin also remains questioned because ancient records describe another System associated with a Chaos God. (Chapters 209–212)

Temporal displacement ends in guarded New Home access

Later revelations associate the elusive Stones with trial instances and temporal displacement. Karl and a Chaos Dragon discuss his moving a set through time, explaining why other factions cannot find what he knows to exist. The corpus mentions several relic sites and does not explicitly prove that every “System Stones” installation is the same physical set, so their histories should not be collapsed without qualification. (Chapters 983, 1373, and 1424)

By Chapter 1876 Karl has reactivated System Stones inside New Home's ruined World Dragon temple. Proximity lets candidates activate an obelisk and begin a class-change process, including compatible Laughing God Systems. The stones remain behind a barrier only Karl can access independently; even the Clan Leader requires his assistance. Their latest function is controlled recruitment and class development rather than open public use. (Chapter 1876)

Abilities and properties

• Can unlock additional class skills for an already compatible user. Karl receives [Skill Book], partner-focused [Identification], and [Mental Fortitude]. (Chapters 207 and 211)
• Can activate or change classes through a nearby obelisk, but compatibility and prior System requirements are not completely resolved in the early discovery. (Chapters 209 and 1876)
• A deliberate randomization option can change class, species, gender, appearance, and racial skills. The user is warned to read exactly what the prompt proposes to randomize. (Chapters 207–208 and 1373)
• The intact discovered set activates through the party's presence without ritual prayer or a spell, while later New Home use still depends on proximity and the World Dragon's will. (Chapters 215 and 1876)
• Stones can be embedded in trial, temple, temporal, or barrier-protected sites. The corpus does not establish that a portable user can freely relocate or operate them as ordinary inventory items. (Chapters 983, 1424, and 1876)
