Steve

Steve is the muscular Dragonkin Warrior who leads a Jackalope Group team through a Totem-ranked Myceloid dungeon.

Biography

Integrating an unconventional replacement tank

Steve meets Karl when the Beast Master arrives as a last-minute replacement for his group’s absent tank. He is skeptical of Karl’s unusual beasts and summoning-based method but accepts the healers’ choice rather than delaying the run. Once he learns the newcomers’ capabilities, he explains the dungeon’s valuable mushroom-steak drops and sets the operational boundary that keeps Thor from eating the rewards. (Chapter 1116)

Karl’s control and damage let the team move far faster than normal, forcing Steve to adapt established pulls without surrendering oversight. He warns the group to conserve mana when their easy success makes them overenthusiastic, then gives the newcomers a precise explanation of the first boss’s toxic spores, healing patches, safe positioning, and cleansing requirements. When Hawk’s Ghostfire creates an unfamiliar shortcut, Steve recognizes the advantage and orders an all-out attack before the boss can recover. (Chapters 1118–1119)

Turning a successful clear into a repeatable plan

Steve continues to manage exertion through the dungeon’s durable enemies, checking that everyone has rested and recovered mana before proceeding. For the final boss he assigns only one tank to the front because the creature’s heavy strike is an area attack, preventing clustered defenders from multiplying the damage. His directions give Karl room to exploit raw strength while preserving the raid’s normal safety structure. (Chapters 1120–1121)

After the clear, Steve identifies a near miss caused by sloppy target awareness instead of treating success as proof that the execution was flawless. He asks Karl to return for later runs, arranges to reconfirm the replacement after a rest day, and raises the possibility of commissioning equipment through Karl’s guild. The result is both a safe completion and a prospective working relationship between the groups. (Chapter 1122)

Appearance and personality

Steve is a muscular Dragonkin man whose visible class is Warrior. No scale colour, clothing, or other identifying detail is supplied. He begins cautiously, questions whether Karl’s beasts are combat-ready, and then revises his judgment when their performance provides evidence. His leadership is practical and safety-minded: he explains mechanics, watches resources, accepts useful improvisation, and names mistakes during the debrief without undermining the team. (Chapters 1116–1122)

Abilities and class

Steve is a Totem-ranked Warrior, but the corpus does not name any of his personal combat skills, weapon techniques, or advanced class. His demonstrated strength lies in dungeon command: he understands aggro positioning, toxic spore avoidance, cleansing load, boss healing, target changes, and party resource pacing. Those are learned tactical applications rather than magical powers. (Chapters 1116–1121)

As a melee Warrior, Steve operates within the usual short range of the class’s skills, but no individual strike can be assigned to him from the group battle narration. He neither grants the team’s buffs nor causes the dungeon’s tailored loot. His latest state remains Totem-ranked and active as Jackalope Group’s field leader, with a completed run and plans for another. (Chapters 1120–1122)

Relationships

Steve’s initial doubt about Karl becomes professional respect as the substitute tank controls the dungeon, leading him to seek Karl’s return and crafted gear. He coordinates with Cindy as the liaison for the replacement arrangement and relies on Reggie and the other healers to manage cleansing. He treats Karl’s bonded beasts as part of the same operational team once their functions are clear. (Chapters 1116–1122)
