Biography

Academy, Magic Contest, and National Service

Dennis welcomes Theodore home after years at Bergen Academy with an embrace rather than ceremony. When the elder lich crisis threatens the Miller Barony, he understands that his son's return saved the village even though he cannot follow the magical details. He is proud without trying to claim Theodore's achievement, and when a royal summons cuts the visit short, he puts national duty before his wish to keep his son home. (Chapters 44 and 52–53)

Eastern Legacies, Quattro, and the Soldun Civil War

King Kurt raises Dennis from baron to earl and grants the family an estate near Mana-vil as part of Theodore's reward. Dennis attends the royal banquet in unfamiliar finery and treats the luxury with humor, reminding Theodore that the family's comfort comes from their child's work.
