The Blood-line Spear is a D-rank weapon specially suited to Melissa Hall, compensating for her limited battle experience by alerting her to hostile intent.

History

Defense during the banquet attack

Melissa relies on the spear when villains attack the academy banquet. Its warning lets her sense attacks she might otherwise miss, while its sharp point gives her a viable weapon against opponents around her own level. She kills several attackers, but the battle also establishes the spear's limits: a stronger enemy drives her backward, and another attack is too fast for her to answer despite receiving the warning, forcing Amanda and Jin to intervene. Properties and functions

• Its named Bloodlust control function helps the user identify bloodlust directed at them. The spear vibrates before an attack, allowing Melissa to evade or prepare a defense. (Chapter 206)
