Gravitas Business Card
The Gravitas Business Card is a small contact card given to Alex by the silver shadow who destroys the Gate of Death in Aterium. Its instructions let Alex reach the Gravitas Mental Health Clinic, bringing Mr. Bauer into the isolated cosmos and enabling both Alex's treatment and Aterium's integration into a larger, functional cosmos.
History
A contact beyond Aterium
After Alex's conflict over leaving Aterium summons a Gate of Death, a silver shadow arrives and kicks the gate apart. The shadow examines Alex, recognizes his psychological distress, and produces a small card for the Gravitas Mental Health Clinic. Alex reads the clinic's name directly from it; the chapter does not describe additional markings, materials, or an activation mechanism. (Chapter 1032)
Alex follows the instructions on the card and contacts the clinic. Mr. Bauer later appears in Aterium, repairs the incomplete parts of Alex's Spirit, separates him from Aterium, and places him in mandatory treatment before he can resume cultivation. Bauer also investigates Aterium's creation and integrates the isolated world into his own cosmos, ending its closed Mana economy. The card is therefore the contact instrument that makes the epilogue's rescue possible, not the source of Bauer's power itself. (Chapter 1033)
The card is associated indirectly with Shang because Alex's responsibility for their shared past, his hatred of Shang, and his desire for revenge form the central reason for treatment. The corpus explicitly treats Alex and Shang as separated people at this endpoint, so the card belongs to Alex rather than to Shang. (Chapter 1033)
Abilities and properties
- The card carries instructions sufficient for Alex to contact someone at the Gravitas Mental Health Clinic from the otherwise isolated Aterium. The exact communication method is not explained. (Chapters 1032–1033)
- Using it leads to Mr. Bauer's arrival, but the subsequent Spirit repair, cosmic investigation, and integration of Aterium are Bauer's abilities rather than powers demonstrated by the card. (Chapter 1033)
- It is not shown functioning as a weapon, defensive artifact, or independent transport device. Its established role is informational and communicative. (Chapters 1032–1033)
