Black God Set

The Black God Set is a class of adaptive black protective suits recovered from Archaeological Ruin No. 9, not one unique suit passed among every wearer. It gave Earth's elite fighters unusually complete coverage and flexible storage, but its ability to disperse force had finite limits and was eventually outclassed by Luo Feng's Cloud Contact armor. History

Ruin origin and Li Yao's advantage

Hong first explains the equipment while warning Luo Feng that Li Yao returned from an archaeological ruin with a set. Li Yao uses his own specimen as armor, a stretching limb, and a survival advantage in his pursuit of Luo Feng. Other fighters, including Catalan, already possess separate sets. The corpus later identifies Archaeological Ruin No. 9 as the sole source and gives entering Wargods only a 28 percent chance of success. (Chapters 136–156 and 178)

Luo Feng's award and field use

After requesting one as a reward, Luo Feng receives his own set with a manual. He shapes it into clothing, armor, a helmet, ear protection, and a backpack, and can conceal weapon components inside it. He relies on it during the Misty Island operations and early Star Traveler battles. (Chapters 158–176 and 210–217)

Superseded rather than transferred

Babata treats Luo Feng's Black God Set as adequate Star Traveler defense, but says the nurtured Cloud Contact Vine will make it unnecessary. Later scenes describe Cloud Contact armor as far beyond it. The corpus does not record Luo Feng selling, gifting, or destroying his old set, and references to Hong, Thunder God, and other representatives concern their own specimens. Abilities and properties

• The responsive membrane can cover the entire body, seal vulnerable openings, and reshape into armor, clothing, a backpack, elongated limbs, or other simple forms directed by its wearer. (Chapters 136, 143, and 153–165)
• Its layered structure distributes and weakens impacts and can repair a cut after penetration, but the transmitted force can still injure internal organs. (Chapters 143 and 216)
• Strong enough attacks can penetrate it. Emperor-level monsters, laser weapons, sufficiently powerful weapon fragments, and superior fighters are all identified or demonstrated counters. (Chapters 148, 216, and 294)
• Stretching the material reduces the force delivered through the extended section, and extra conventional armor is sometimes worn outside it against threats the set cannot safely absorb. (Chapters 143 and 195)
