Yan Hai
Yan Hai is an elderly representative fighter whose loyalty to Li Yao later helps turn the weakened HR Alliance into an instrument of coercion.
Biography
From Li Yao ally to HR Alliance strongman
Yan Hai's deep ties to Li Yao make him the one representative expected to resent Luo Feng for Li Yao's approaching death. After Earth's strongest fighters fall during the catastrophe, Yan Hai and Atkin exploit the vacuum at the top of the HR Alliance, using threats, blackmail, and force to seize control and prey on relatives of dead heroes. Luo Feng returns, kills Yan Hai at his residence, and then pursues the other leaders responsible. (Chapters 195–199 and 266–268)
Appearance and personality
Yan Hai is an old, white-haired man described as seeming almost lifeless. His loyalty to Li Yao persists among representatives otherwise indifferent to two Wargod deaths, but his later abuse of bereaved families makes that loyalty part of a broader pattern of predation.
