Mogus

Mogus is an unaffiliated Undying and Undying Ancestor whose power is dispersed through the souls of innumerable living beings. A top-tier soul specialist and consumer of Source World populations, he is a mortal enemy of the Cultivator Camp even though no established primordial camp can control him. Biography

Predator of Source World souls

Before Starlight becomes a Lord, the Cultivator Camp can only negotiate with Mogus. During a later camp war he infiltrates Cultivator territory and devours the souls of more than six million Source Worlds while Starlight's battle avatar is occupied. Starlight responds by hunting his presence across every time and dimension, erasing eighty-nine percent and then more than ninety-five percent of his dispersed power. Mogus survives because complete annihilation would require eliminating every living host or avatar that contains him. (Chapters 1915 and 1920)

Mogus later joins the Ancestor coalition as its principal soul attacker. With six helpers he injures several Lords at a level that ordinary physical and energy defenses cannot easily answer, but their strong wills and Luo Feng's restoration prevent a decisive result. After two failed attempts and the Ancestors' retreat, Mogus refuses to fight the Lords directly again unless the coalition finds a still stronger soul specialist. He disappears, remaining alive and free of territory or factional obligations. (Chapters 1971–1974)

Appearance and personality

Mogus appears with a chilling aura. He is predatory, contemptuous of weaker Ancestors, and confident when exploiting targets with inferior spiritual will, but pragmatic enough to withdraw after learning the Lords' resistance. (Chapters 1920 and 1974)

Abilities and cultivation

• He is Undying and Undying because his power hides among countless life souls across time and space. Destroying local manifestations reduces his total power but does not kill him. (Chapters 1915 and 1967)
• His soul techniques can injure Lords and bypass many conventional combat strengths, making his threat and destructiveness exceed those of more than half the Cultivator Lords despite his overall strength only barely reaching the top ten. (Chapters 1915 and 1971–1974)
