Biography
Losing influence after the World Within a World
Hargrey appears as a senior sacred-land Sector Lord meeting Jiang Tian Chen. The World Within a World expedition becomes a personal disaster: he fails to obtain the inheritance crystal ball, loses nearly all his fortune, and spends the treasures his side did recover appeasing Sector Lords he offended. With his sacred-land power diminished, he can offer Brolin little institutional protection and frankly explains how difficult advancement is within the vastly larger Ganwu Empire. Appearance and personality
Hargrey is a bald old man with an aquiline nose and unusual eyes. The later scenes present him as chastened and realistic about his losses, no longer able to promise influence that his position cannot support. (Chapters 360 and 388–390)
