A hostage becomes a sealed subordinate

Thyra identifies Three as one of the three Grand Master Stage assassins in the fifty-member surviving force. The numbered hierarchy places Three beneath both Thyra and Two but well above the Master and Advance Stage operatives who form most of the unit. (Chapter 96)

During the Hardwick infiltration, Nux bypasses the assassins and appears beside Three, choosing her rather than Two as the hostage whose neck he can hold a dagger against.
