Ravana

Ravana Greenmarch is the Verdan Progenitor and leader of the lowest-level world Greenmarch. Forced to place his world in service to Light, he later awakens after Nux devours Greenmarch with its people intact. Ravana's weakened link to the World Will helps Shadow Lane discover how transplanted worlds recover inside Nux's universe.

Biography

A ruler compelled to serve Light

Ravana first appears through the authority carried by Greenmarch's representative when the Light faction demands six centuries of service. Greenmarch accepts because slavery offers a better chance of survival than becoming a Supreme faction's enemy. The choice establishes the pressure under which Ravana governs: even as his world's Progenitor, he cannot protect it from the Universal Tremors or refuse stronger powers without risking everyone. (Chapter 2143)

After Nux moves the whole world, Ravana wakes among tens of thousands of unconscious soldiers. His armor and body were cracked by pressure rather than a conventional battle, his connection to Greenmarch's Will is weak, and the world itself appears damaged. He remains calm enough to assess casualties and recognizes that the intruder deliberately spared them. His composure breaks only when Shadow produces his daughter Riana, whom Light would otherwise treat as connected to the attack on Gracevale. (Chapters 2154–2155)

Shadow explains that Greenmarch has already disappeared from the Main Universe and is beyond Light's reach. Ravana's fear gives way to relief when he learns that his people can rebuild without external tremors. Asked to report on Greenmarch's Will, he admits that it is present but dormant. That limitation supplies the observation Nux and Shadow need: a devoured World's Will loses part of its existence and must anchor to the new universe before it can awaken. (Chapters 2155–2157)

When Nux's breakthrough shakes the inner universe, Shadow suppresses the tremor and protects Greenmarch. Ravana witnesses powers far beyond his own, bows in gratitude, and remains alive with his world at the end of his brief arc. The corpus does not return to him after Chapter 2157 or show the World Will fully recovering. (Chapter 2157)

Appearance and personality

Ravana has pale ivory skin with green-gold undertones, long moss-green hair, pointed ears, and faintly luminous green blood. He wears green-and-gold armor engraved with leaf patterns; it is cracked when he wakes after Nux's arrival. (Chapter 2154)

He is cautious, protective, practical, and aware of his place in the wider universe. He distrusts Shadow but listens when his daughter's safety is established, asks what price protection requires, and prioritizes Greenmarch's recovery over pride. (Chapters 2154–2157)

Abilities and cultivation

Ravana is a Sovereign and the Progenitor of the Verdans. Greenmarch's land recognizes him, and he has a direct relationship with its World Will. The move into Nux's universe weakens that bond until he can barely sense a dormant presence, so the corpus does not demonstrate the full authority he possessed before transplantation. (Chapters 2154–2157)

He leads more than forty thousand soldiers and survives Nux's pressure, but is rendered unconscious without perceiving an attack. No named Law, Domain, weapon technique, range, energy cost, or later stage is supplied. His importance to the universe study comes from his World-Will connection rather than exceptional personal combat. (Chapters 2154–2157)

Relationships

  • Riana: Ravana's daughter. Her accidental connection to the Gracevale attack makes Greenmarch a target for Light, and her safety is the first concern that determines whether Ravana will listen to Shadow. (Chapters 2154–2155)
  • Shadow Lane: Shadow explains Greenmarch's rescue and asks Ravana to report on its Will. His inability to do so reveals the Will's dormant state and advances her understanding of the inner universe. (Chapters 2154–2157)
  • Nux: Nux overwhelms Ravana's army and devours Greenmarch whole without killing its people. Ravana fears him but benefits from the protection and new universal connection that result. (Chapters 2154–2157)
  • Rune: Rune observes that Greenmarch's transplantation provides a route for Nux's universe to produce complex life. Ravana bows to her despite not understanding the full discussion. (Chapter 2157)

Items

Ravana refers to a Light-faction artifact intended to protect Greenmarch from tremors, but it fails where Shadow succeeds. The artifact is unnamed, its custody is not followed, and it is not separately cataloged. (Chapter 2157)
