Ragnar Leander
Ragnar Leander is the son of Nux and Astaria, distinguished among the Leander children by the same intense devotion to sword combat as his mother. He treats dangerous fights and structural destruction as acceptable costs of training, making restraint rather than courage his recurring problem.
Biography
Growing into Astaria's sword-obsessed heir
Ragnar enters a fight with Dragons by drawing the sword he keeps with him like another child might keep a favorite toy. When warned that the surrounding place may collapse, he accepts responsibility and shows no fear even when threatened with a report to Astaria. His attention remains on continuing the battle rather than on the environment or the work others will need to do afterward. (Chapters 2307–2308)
Among the Leander children, Ragnar's strength makes him the opponent Kaelion explicitly wants to surpass. He forms a close group with Zyrax, Drakar, and Frostra, reflecting the longstanding closeness among their mothers, and he resents losing training time for the family gathering. (Chapters 2315 and 2318–2319)
At the gathering he criticizes Drakar and Zyrax for stopping a fight and recommends continuing regardless of damage, while Frostra predicts that he will cause destruction most of the time. The final family scene places him beside Astaria, alive and still part of the reunited household. (Chapters 2320 and 2405)
Appearance and personality
Ragnar has slightly disheveled brown hair and bright brown eyes. He is fearless, competitive, and almost single-minded about sword fighting. Confidence readily becomes disregard for collateral damage, though his promise to take responsibility shows that he does not simply deny the consequences. (Chapters 2307–2308)
Abilities and cultivation
Ragnar is a sword fighter whose strength is respected by the other Leander children, but the corpus does not give him a conventional cultivation stage, bloodline grade, Law, Domain, or named technique. His posture and weapon handling show practiced combat ability; claims beyond that would exceed the supplied evidence. (Chapters 2307–2308 and 2315)
Relationships
- Astaria: Ragnar inherits Astaria's love of sword combat and is one of the children she protects after Nux's apparent loss. He is not visibly intimidated by the prospect of her discipline. (Chapters 2307–2308 and 2405)
- Nux: Ragnar is notably calmer during the family meal with his father and is one of the children reunited around him. (Chapters 2320 and 2405)
- Zyrax, Drakar, and Frostra: They form Ragnar's close peer group. Frostra frequently supplies the practical objection to his willingness to break the training environment. (Chapters 2318–2320)
- Kaelion: Kaelion identifies defeating Ragnar as a concrete long-term goal, establishing Ragnar as a benchmark among the children. (Chapter 2315)
Items
Ragnar habitually carries an unnamed sword rather than storing it away. It is not a separately cataloged item. (Chapter 2307)
