Nyssara
Nyssara Cicsik is a Serpenthri leader of the Galactic Association's Fifth Force. Her attempt to claim an unreported world draws her into Zarathor's plan for control of the Association and then into a war manipulated by Nux, where her powerful life-energy rebirth becomes the route through which she is defeated.
Biography
A private conquest contested by another faction
Nyssara enters after independently bringing an army to devour the Will of a newly discovered world. Association rules require her to report it and let a joint team conduct the subjugation, but the organization's rotating distribution of conquered Worlds would delay her reward. She therefore prioritizes personal advancement over the rules, only to find Zarathor pursuing the same objective with his own force. (Chapters 1515–1516)
Both leaders understand that an all-out battle could destroy the subordinates sustaining their influence. Nyssara agrees to an Oath of Death that binds the two factions to fight until surrender and promises the next discovered world to the loser. The supposed foundation for a future alliance conceals Zarathor's real plan: because the loser cannot leave before the winner devours the World, he can delay that act and force Nyssara into an Oath of Subordination. (Chapters 1516–1519)
Nyssara recognizes the trap before surrendering and tries to escape so she can expose Zarathor's use of forbidden Nethrians and his enslavement of another faction leader. Nux and Vyriana intervene at that moment, impersonating the higher authority Zarathor fears. Nyssara is pulled back into battle by the same deception, believing that Vyriana is secretly supporting Zarathor while publicly testing both sides. (Chapters 1519–1523)
Rebirth, temporary alliance, and defeat
Nyssara gains the numerical advantage until Zarathor's eight-element attack kills hundreds of her allies and leaves her badly injured. He offers survival through submission, expecting Serpenthri's Rebirth to be only a healing technique. Nyssara instead activates its full form, restores her surviving allies, raises herself to five times her prior strength, and kills Azhural before he can respond. The victory restores balance but consumes her emergency transformation and leaves both factions depleted. (Chapters 1523–1525)
Zarathor eventually convinces Nyssara that Vyriana is using them and will discard the survivor. Nyssara accepts a temporary alliance to kill their apparent overseer, choosing resistance once submission no longer offers credible safety. Vyriana's true form and the arrival of Nux's family expose the scale of the manipulation; the invading armies scatter, and Nyssara faces Amaya while trying to use Rebirth again. (Chapters 1526–1534)
Amaya corrupts the life energy before it can complete its circuit, turning the healing field against Nyssara's soldiers and letting Absolute Devour enter Nyssara when the energy returns to her body. Amaya initially keeps her alive for memories and study, but Nux devours her immediately afterward in retaliation for the battle's harm to his wives. Her memories later provide the family with information about the Association's fifty-two affiliated Worlds; this is knowledge extracted after death, not evidence of Nyssara surviving as an independent person. (Chapters 1534–1535 and 1639)
Appearance and personality
Nyssara is approximately five meters tall, with a beautiful face carrying serpentine features, a sharp snake-like tongue, flexible body, red eyes, and long living-looking hair resembling many crawling snakes. Scales cover her body and are shed during Rebirth. (Chapters 1515 and 1524)
She is ambitious, calculating, proud, and quick to recognize political traps. She refuses to bow merely because she seeks Zarathor's help and recalculates when new information appears. Her confidence becomes more volatile under catastrophic losses, but she continues making purposeful alliances rather than surrendering passively. (Chapters 1515–1527)
Abilities and cultivation
Divine-stage Serpenthri body
Nyssara is a Divine-stage, or Ultimate-stage in her own terminology, Serpenthri. Her large flexible body, claws or hands, speed, and physical force let her pierce Azhural's chest and crush his heart while empowered. The corpus does not identify her ordinary Path, Law, Domain, training history, baseline speed, or non-Rebirth attacks. (Chapters 1515 and 1524–1525)
Her normal level is far below Yrniel's strongest Complete Divine cultivators. Vyriana's released pressure damages Nyssara and her army without differentiating between leader and subordinate, while Amaya later ends their duel without exchanging physical blows. These are demonstrated limits against unusually strong outsiders, not evidence that Nyssara was weak by her Association's standards. (Chapters 1521–1522 and 1534)
Serpenthri's Rebirth
Serpenthri's Rebirth releases green life energy across an area described as roughly ten times larger than the kilometers-wide hazardous field left by Zarathor's attack. It dispels those lingering elemental effects, heals everyone Nyssara recognizes as an ally, repairs even injuries thousands of years old, and then returns to her body. As her old scales and skin crack away, a renewed body emerges and the returning energy temporarily makes her five times stronger. (Chapter 1524)
The technique is both healing and transformation, but it is not cost-free. Nyssara's body cracks while sustaining the mass restoration, the boost is explicitly temporary, and its circular mechanics require the released energy to re-enter her. Amaya exploits that condition by corrupting the field with Absolute Devour; the same energy that should complete Nyssara's renewal instead places hostile Absolute Power inside her and removes her control. No resistance to that corruption or later variant is shown. (Chapters 1524 and 1534–1535)
Relationships
- Zarathor: Nyssara's rival faction leader, attempted enslaver, battlefield enemy, and final temporary ally. Each repeatedly tries to use the other, but neither escapes Nux's larger manipulation. (Chapters 1515–1534)
- Nux: The observer who helps construct the false overseer scenario and later devours Nyssara. He retains her memories as intelligence about the Association. (Chapters 1517–1535 and 1639)
- Vyriana: The fighter Nyssara mistakes for Zarathor's hidden superior. Vyriana's overwhelming pressure and Dragon form eventually reveal that the Association forces never controlled the conflict. (Chapters 1520–1530)
- Amaya: Nyssara's final opponent. Amaya corrupts Rebirth at its point of return and leaves her alive but completely incapacitated until Nux intervenes. (Chapters 1534–1535)
Items
Nyssara signs a Nethrian-made Oath of Death on black paper, but the oath is a binding contract shared with Zarathor rather than an individually cataloged possession. No cataloged item is assigned to her. (Chapter 1516)
