Graner

Graner Zander is a Sage-stage member of Destiny whose harassment of Astaria gives Nux the public opponent he needs to introduce ExceedoGenesis. His confidence in rank and clan protection ends in a deliberately humiliating defeat that damages Destiny far beyond the duel itself.

Biography

Harassment turned into promotion for ExceedoGenesis

Graner first appears pressuring Astaria to join Destiny while she and her companions register a clan. He carefully stays within the Ancestral Order's rules, relying on Destiny's five Great Sages and the public discomfort of his targets to make repeated harassment feel consequence-free. His goal combines recruitment, status, and personal desire: he imagines excluding Nux while bringing the women into his clan. (Chapters 820–821)

Nux recognizes the opening and provokes Graner into a duel between a Sage and an Emperor. Graner believes the stage difference guarantees victory and follows Nux's suggestion to advertise the match widely, unknowingly building the audience for ExceedoGenesis's debut. Even the clan's name and recruitment drive are positioned around the coming upset. (Chapters 821–828)

A public defeat that becomes Destiny's crisis

Graner attacks with a sword and tries to behead Nux, but cannot land a blow. Nux repeatedly waits for him to recover, lets him attack first, and knocks him down while keeping his hands in his pockets. The pattern converts an unexpected loss into a psychological demonstration that Graner's full effort cannot threaten him. When Nux finally restrains his limbs and forms a spell at point-blank range, Graner surrenders. (Chapters 828–829)

The result makes both Nux and ExceedoGenesis famous while turning Destiny into a joke. Before Vindan, Graner is more afraid of the punishment awaiting him than of a quick death. Destiny rejects the option of apologizing and instead imprisons him underground while preparing a larger retaliation, allowing one member's humiliation to become a clan-wide conflict. Graner is later brought with Destiny's full force to the public clan battle, but he is silent and receives no distinct action or resolution. The fighting ends with Destiny's leadership enslaved and the clan's eventual collapse; the corpus does not say whether Graner is killed, captured, released, or retained as a subordinate. Later references to Nux defeating him describe the past duel and do not establish survival. (Chapters 842–849)

The corpus identifies Graner as a male Sage and shows him carrying a long silver-colored sword, but does not specify his height, build, hair, eyes, clothing, or age. (Chapter 828)

He is vain, entitled, persistent, and dependent on the reputation of stronger clanmates. He enjoys the helplessness created by rule-compliant harassment and is easily flattered by subordinates. His bravado collapses under superior force, first before Nux and then before Vindan, revealing that his confidence rests on assumed protection rather than tested resolve. (Chapters 820–832)

Sage-stage body cultivation

Graner is a Sage-stage body cultivator whose training favors one-on-one combat after closing distance. He uses superior stage-based speed and physical force with a long sword and expects one clean slash to kill an Emperor. The source does not name his cultivation technique, Path, body ability, sword art, or acquisition history. (Chapter 828)

Against Nux, his attacks are direct and repeatedly overextend when they miss. Nux's speed, reactions, and close combat let him evade every slash, exploit Graner's balance, and control the fight without a weapon. Graner demonstrates no ranged answer, defensive technique, Law, Domain, or later progression. His highest established stage remains Sage. (Chapters 828–829)
