Gartos

Gartos Filson is an Incubus sent into the Forgotten Continent during the Demon States' incursion. His confidence in the normal superiority of an Emperor Stage demon collapses when the Leander women beat and capture him, after which Nux kills him in a one-sided fight.

Biography

Captured before the invasion can unfold

Gartos is first identified as the male demon expected to target female Emperors while the other invading Emperors search for suitable victims. Before he can carry out that role, Nux's wives overwhelm him. He is brought to the group's base with broken teeth, swollen eyes, torn clothing, and extensive bruising, a defeat made more humiliating by the demon assumption that their magic makes them superior to local cultivators. (Chapters 678–680)

After recovering enough to speak, Gartos refuses to accept that a King Stage human could threaten him. Even Erotica's warning and the visible evidence of his earlier defeat do not overcome his contempt. He challenges Nux, loses an arm during the exchange, and attempts a large magic-circle attack while enraged. Nux encloses the battle within Devouring Mist and emerges alone, later reporting that Gartos was tougher than expected. (Chapters 686–689)

Erotica uses Gartos's death to warn the remaining demons away from Nux and his wives. She stresses that he died without meaningful resistance, and his peers' disbelief becomes evidence of how badly they have misjudged the humans they intended to exploit. (Chapters 691–694)

Appearance and personality

Gartos has black horns and wings, long ears, light-purple hair and eyes, narrow warrior-like eyes, sword-shaped eyebrows, and a carefully proportioned handsome face. His first on-page condition is badly injured, but his later description establishes his normal appearance. (Chapters 679 and 686)

He is proud, suspicious, and contemptuous of lower-stage humans. He recognizes that Erotica must have a reason to warn him yet interprets her caution through his own prejudices, choosing escalation even after being captured once. (Chapters 686–688)

Abilities and cultivation

Gartos is an Emperor Stage Incubus who relies on demonic magic. He can form a large magic circle even after losing an arm, but the corpus does not preserve the spell's completed effect because Nux suppresses the fight inside Devouring Mist. His exact affinity, named techniques, energy costs, bloodline grade, and full strength outside the Forgotten Continent's restrictions are not established. (Chapters 678 and 688–689)
